the issues
Lower Taxes & Fiscal Responsibility
Local property taxes are having an outsized financial burden on families across Texas. As Commissioner, Robin will fight to ensure that Galveston County continues to reduce tax rates to provide REAL property tax relief to residents. To do so, we must ensure every tax dollar is being spent in the most fiscally responsible and effective manner possible to deliver the best services at the lowest cost to taxpayers.
Flood Mitigation & Infrastructure
Flood control and traffic are critical investments for our local governments. We need to work together collaboratively to decrease congestion and prevent property losses during natural disasters. Living in a coastal county and being downstream of regional watersheds, Galveston County is presented with unique challenges. As Commissioner, Robin serves on the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Transportation Advisory Council, where he represents Galveston County’s interests in local and regional road projects that feed our local industry and economy. He believes that proactive communication and coordination between local and regional governments is necessary to address today’s issues, working toward the future.
Public Safety
Galveston County has a reputation for being one of the safest places to live, raise a family, and own a business. With Precinct 4 being home to 2 of the top 10 safest cities in Texas, Robin remain committed to supporting law enforcement by investing in their needs so they can continue keeping our families and communities safe.
